Description

NUX MG‑400 – Modelling Guitar & Bass Processor (MG400)

The NUX MG‑400 is a feature‑rich, value‑packed modelling processor that builds on the success of the MG‑300. With dual DSP chips powering TSAC‑HD white‑box amp modeling and Core‑Image post‑effects, the MG‑400 delivers realistic playability, intuitive tone shaping, and flexible routing in a compact, affordable unit.

TSAC‑HD White‑Box Amp Modeling

The MG‑400 uses the same high‑definition amp modeling algorithm as the MG‑300, offering analog‑style chaos, dynamic response, and real‑time parameter interaction. As the document states: “The white‑box algorithm offers real-time feedback, increment-by-increment… replicating the same playability most guitarists crave in a real tube amplifier.

Firmware V2.1.1 adds two additional amp models for even more tonal variety.

512‑Sample IR Engine

The MG‑400 includes:

  • 25 guitar cabinet IRs (4 mics × 3 positions)
  • 8 bass cabinet IRs
  • 3 acoustic IRs
  • 12 IR COLLECTION slots
  • User IR slot per patch

Supports 3rd‑party IRs up to 48kHz via QuickTone™.

10 Independent Moveable Blocks

Blocks include NG, CMP, EFX, AMP, IR, EQ, MOD, DLY, RVB, and P.L. You can freely rearrange blocks for creative routing. The document notes: “You can move signal blocks freely… there are lots of tone creations with the flexible block routing.

Firmware V2.1.1 also allows block‑swapping (e.g., CMP↔EFX, MOD↔EFX, RVB↔DLY), enabling dual delays or dual drives.

2.8” Color LCD

A bright, intuitive 2.8” 320×240 LCD makes editing fast and visual — no manual diving required.

Scene Functionality

Each preset includes 3 scenes, allowing instant switching of block states with CTRL footswitches. Delay and reverb trails are preserved when switching scenes.

Jam Mode – Drum Machine & Looper

The MG‑400 supports:

  • Phrase Loop Synchronization with Rhythm
  • 30s stereo / 60s mono looping
  • Normal Recording (NR) and Auto Recording (AR)

As the document states: “MG‑400 will automatically beat match the phrase to fit the current rhythm BPM.

QuickTone™ Editor Software

Edit patches, drag block order, load IRs, configure scenes, adjust USB routing, and manage presets with the QuickTone™ editor.

USB Audio Interface

MG‑400 doubles as a USB interface for recording, re‑amping, livestreaming, and playback monitoring. Loopback mode is available for streaming.
